Thomas moves from Eureka! to Miami
Gillian Thomas, chair of the board of trustees for Eureka! The Museum for Children, is to become president of the Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Plantarium.
She will begin her role this month.
Thomas was appointed to develop the Eureka concept in 1989, then left when it opened in 1992.
Since then she worked for the National Museum of Science and Industry in London, and @Bristol. She returned to chair the board of trustees for Eureka! in 2001, succeeding the museum's founding chair, Dame Vivien Duffield.
In Miami, Thomas will oversee the day to day museum operation as well as spearheading its expansion to Museum Park, the city of Miami's redevelopment plan for Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami.
