Thornton Sports’ new Classic Match surface has recently been installed at Bramall Queensgate Tennis Club in Stockport, UK.

Designed to simulate the playing characteristics of clay surfaces, the new synthetic surface is designed to provide a high performance, cost effective and low maintenance alternative.

Bramall Queensgate Tennis Club required a surface that would slow down the ball and provide a high ball bounce in comparison to that experienced on grass or hard courts.

The terracotta Classic Match surface is ITF slow pace certified and was installed in one of the club’s four blocks of three tennis courts.

Thornton Sports is now installing Classic Match at Denby Dale Tennis Club in Huddersfield, on top of the company’s SudsSports system, to provide a solution for difficult ground and drainage conditions.
