Thorpe Park to invest in Euro-Fighter
Thorpe Park theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, UK, has submitted a planning application for a new rollercoaster for the 2009 season.
If the application is approved by Runnymede Borough Council, German ride manufacturer Gerstlauer will provide the park with a Eurofighter ride, which includes a 100ft, beyond vertical drop.
The ride would be the third Eurofighter in the UK, with Oakwood theme park in Wales and Adventure Land in Southend having installed similar rides in past years.
Peter Ronchetti, Thorpe Park’s general manager, said: “We have developed significantly over the last decade and invested more then £35m since 1998.
“This new development will further add to our impressive ride portfolio.”
Thorpe Park currently boasts one of the Europe’s fastest rollercoasters, called Stealth, as well as Colossus, a ride which reaches forces of 4.5G.
