Three new-look play areas for Stockport
Three new play areas have opened in Stockport, Greater Manchester, as part of a wider £1.1m scheme to overhaul 22 facilities under the Playbuilder initiative.
Facilities at Heaton Norris Park and Hollywood Park in Edgeley and Moat Walk, Brinnington have been unveiled by Stockport Council, with more set to open throughout April and May. Other play areas scheduled to open in the coming weeks include St Thomas' Park and Woodbank Park, Offerton; Marbury Road, Heaton Chapel; and Peak Street in central Stockport.
Stockport Council's service director for social care and health, Chris McLoughlin, said: "Children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day to stay healthy. These exciting new play areas are providing even more ways for children to get active and boost their health."
