Tiptree and Highwoods target kids fitness
A number of activity programmes are planned to keep children and young people fit this summer at the Tiptree and Highwoods Community Sports Centres.
Part of Colchester Borough Council, the community sport team has coaching camps and activity days led by qualified staff in July and August.
These range from Fitness Frenzy classes led by qualified fitness staff, Tri-golf with lightweight equipment for young people and gymnastics coaching with BGA coaches to tennis, badminton and football coaching.
Community sport officer Stuart Braybrooke said the activities are designed to include all young people in the area. “Parents can feel assured that their children will be supervised and coached by reliable and qualified staff,” he said.
“The aim of the programmes is to provide for as many young people as possible – whether they live close to the sports centre or in rural areas – and to encourage young people to get more active with the broad range of activities we can offer.”
