Tone opens Vivary Park High Ropes Course
Social enterprise Tone has opened the new Vivary Park High Ropes Course in Taunton.
The full course opened on Friday 15th June following an initial lower ropes course opening on 2nd June.
Despite the worst April weather in 100 years and the local rivers flooding Vivary Park in Taunton to a depth of 2 feet for nearly 10 days, the Outdoor Ropes construction team handed over the new Vivary low ropes course part of the course by the agreed date, but the full course opened on 15th June for public use.
Tone Leisure's commercial director, Joel Chapman said: "We have had most of the course open and that is a tribute to the great work ethic of the contractor. The lower ropes (5 metre height), the climbing wall (10 metres), the two totem pole climbs, Jacobs Ladder and Gladiator Challenge, and team development area have been in use since the Jubilee weekend.
"Just the Higher ropes area has been delayed by two weeks. Tone have partnered with outdoor activity specialists Closer to the Edge and Alliance Leisure to provide support and assistance to develop the project, business and programme.
Tone also manages the 18 hole Vivary Golf Course, a mini golf course and the new Edge Café on the site.
