Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2006 winners announced
Tourism South East announced the winners of the Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2006 last month at Great Fosters Hotel in Egham, Surrey.
The awards featured 14 categories, including hotels, customer service, green tourism and attractions.
The recently redeveloped Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire won best large visitor attraction and Loseley Park in Surrey was named the best small attraction.
In the hospitality sector, the restored Georgian Well Cottage in Hollingbourne was the winner of the best self-catering holiday, while Ashdown Forest Llama Park in Forest Row in East Sussex and the Old Chapel Forge B&B in Lagness near Chichester were joint winners of the new green tourism award.
Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden, Kent, was voted the best flavour of the south east.
The winners will now represent the south east in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.
