Tourism Society Annual Conference details announced
This year’s annual Tourism Society Conference will take place at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort in Scotland between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 May.
At the core of the two main conference days on 16 and 18 May will be workshop sessions, grouped either side of lunch.
Delegates will be invited to discuss and debate two broad streams of investigation, one with an industry focus, the other with an academic focus.
A number of internationally renowned experts will take part in both streams of investigation, and at the end of each of the two days, a panel of speakers and presenters will debate the conference’s conclusions with delegates.
Keynote speakers at the conference include William Roe, chairman of Highlands and Islands Enterprise; David Green, convener of the Cairngorms National Park Authority; Professor Sandy Pentland, of Media Lab, MIT; and Professor Stephen Tinsley, of Sustainable Development Research Centre, UHI.
There will also be study visits on 17 May to Rothiemurchus Estate, the Highland Folk Museum, Culloden Battlefield, Glenmore Visitor Centre, or Loch Garten Osprey Centre.
