Tram shelter to take away
Gunwharf Quays, Land Securities' mixed-use development on the waterfront at Portsmouth Harbour, has rescued and restored a local 1920s tram shelter and let it out to a take-away food company.
£75,000 was spent on restoring the shelter - which was dismantled in 1948 - and it has been re-erected amongst Gunwharf Quays' new Market Square area. The 490sq ft structure has now been let to Fresh, an Out of Town group franchise, on a 10 year lease.
Scheduled to open in early Spring next year, Fresh will be offering a range of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, jacket potatoes, a patisserie and quality coffee.
The Out of Town group currently operates 12 Fresh outlets across the UK.
