Travelodge applicants quick to impress
Travelodge is seeking to recruit 30 new London-based hotel managers – in speed dating-style interviews.
The hotel chain, which aims to open more than 30 new sites this year, has dispensed with the traditional interview format to invite 100 potential managers to a one-day speed-recruitment session.
Ruth Saunders, Travelodge resourcing manager, said: “We all know that first impressions count.
“Statistics differ but most experts agree that we all decide whether we do or don’t like someone within the first minute and a half of meeting them.
“We will recruit over 1000 new managers by 2020 and it is imperative that we continue to find new and innovative ways to recruit in order to find the right people and satisfy this unprecedented demand.”
Successful speed-interview applicants will be invited back for a second interview and those appointed will undergo a 12-week training programme before taking over their hotel.
