Travelodge joins forces with pub groups
Budget hotel operator Travelodge has announced that it has joined forces with a number of UK pub groups as part of a £100m expansion drive across the country.
Travelodge will be working with Greene King; JW Lees; Marston's; Mitchells and Butlers; and JD Wetherspoon in its bid to develop 36 new locations by 2015. It has revealed that it has drawn up a bespoke development strategy as part of the partnership with pub companies, which are also embarking on expansion plans.
According to the hotel group, the proposed co-location offers benefits in terms of providing guests with a food and drink offer, as well as making schemes easier and more affordable. Travelodge managing director for development Paul Harvey said: "The pub companies have noticeably stepped up their development plans over recent months and in many parts of the country their target locations correspond with ours."
