Trumpington expansion gets go-ahead
Proposals for a new 60-hectare country park have been green lighted by the Cambridge City Council.
The Trumpington Meadows project will include a new community centre and is part of a larger redevelopment programme which also includes 1,200 homes, a health centre and a school.
The Wildlife Trust will be given a £3.3m grant to fund the long-term management of the country park
Plans for the park include new footpaths, cycleways and bridleways and tree planting along the Hauxton Road into Cambridge.
David Trippier, chair of Cambridgeshire Horizons, said: “This is a really important step forward and a testament to the good partnership working with the local authorities and the support that we have received from the government.”
