Trust in Scottish forest acqusition bid
Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) has announced that Argyll-based Colintraive and Glendaruel Development Trust (CGDT) has applied to purchase Stronafian Forest.
The trust is seeking to acquire more than 600 hectares (1,483 acres) of "surplus" land and woodland within the Cowal and Trossachs Forest District. CGDT has made the application as part of the National Forest Lands Scheme, which aims to provide communities with the opportunity to buy or lease woodland to provide increased public benefits.
