Turok is entrepreneur of the year
CEO of health and fitness group LA Fitness, Fred Turok, has been named Enterpreneur of the Year at the Financial Times PLC Awards 2001.
Mr Turok beat off competition from several big names in the fields of retail and healthcare, including Stephen Marks - head of French Connection.
'From the earliest days of the company the ability to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit has been a fundamental part of our culture - essential to the successful growth and development of the business in a fast-moving, proactive market sector,' Mr Turok commented.
The accolade is the latest for the group which has recently picked up a number of awards including the SDA Marketing Genius Award, The Keiser Award for the LA PrimeTime programme and Property Week's Best Small Operator.
