Two firms to work on Welsh heritage sites
Branding and design agency M Worldwide and fit out contractor Datum Contracts have been appointed to work on retail and visitor centre concepts at historic attractions across Wales.
The two companies have been selected by Cadw, the Welsh Assembly Government's historic environment agency with responsibility for managing the country's heritage properties.
New-look retail and visitor facilities at Conwy Castle, which are due to be launched by Easter 2012, will benefit from M Worldwide and Datum Contracts' new approach as part of a trial.
M Worldwide will be responsible for drawing up design principles that can be applied across the Cadw estate, which will then be implemented by Datum Contracts.
Cadw head of visitor and business services Jayne Rowlands said: "Cadw has strived to achieve year-on-year growth in visitor numbers and the new retail interiors will support our strategy to enhance the overall visitor experience."
