Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that agreements have been signed for the opening of two new Regency-branded hotels in India - one in Gurgaon and the other in Ludhiana.
The international hospitality operator now has 55 Hyatt-branded hotels under development throughout the country following the signing of the deals with Piccadily Hotels Private.
Due to open this year, the 452-bedroom Hyatt Regency Gurgaon is to comprise a spa with four treatment rooms; a fitness centre; a swimming pool; and three restaurants.
Hyatt Regency Ludhiana will open in late 2012 with 167 bedrooms and suites and a fitness centre, as well as a spa - further details of which are yet to be confirmed by the group.
There are already 19 Regency-branded properties under development in India, in addition to the five currently open. Hyatt's other brands are also expanding their presence in the country.
Hyatt International, South West Asia managing director Peter Fulton said: "As India continues to grow and develop, we believe there will be significant opportunity in this market to expand representation in urban, suburban, airport, convention, and vacation destinations."
