Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has reappointed Lis Astall and Sarah Springman to the board of UK Sport.

Astall, a former president of British Showjumping, and Springman, a former Team GB triathlete, have been appointed for their second terms.

Both played a crucial role in Team GB’s success at London 2012.

Astall led British Showjumping for four years ahead to the gold medal winning performances at the Games, while Springman played a pivotal role as British Triathlon president – and International Triathlon Union Vice-President – in successfully lobbying for triathlon to be accepted onto the sport programme at London.

The 10-strong UK Sport board is led by chair, Rod Carr.
