UKVMA partners Bucks New Uni for degree course
The UK Venue Managers Association (UKVMA) has launched a new bachelors degree course in partnership with Buckinghamshire New University (BNU).
The foundation degree in venue management has been developed by BNU to cater for increased demand from managers for a professional qualification that will promote continuing professional development (CPD) as well as recognise the wide range of disciplines involved in the venue management profession.
The course is a two-year programme, and to achieve the BSc (Hons) students will require a further year's study.
Neil Levett, Director of UKVMA, said: "Venues throughout the world, and particularly in Europe, are gearing up for sporting and leisure events that are bucking the economic trend.
"This industry has a duty to ensure that the leaders and managers of all types and sizes of venues have the right skills and confidence to handle this growth."
