Una Hotels One Catania, in Sicily, Italy, has revealed its 1,700sq m Urban Spa, which has a Thalasso-inspired concept.

The spa facilities at the 55-key hotel have a footprint that extends across indoor and outdoor spaces.

There is an indoor pool with lumbar massage jets, an outdoor pool, a Turkish bath, Finnish sauna and multisensory showers. There are also salt rooms, a Kniepp walking path and a biosauna.

The spa has a Beauty Hub, which has been created in collaboration with Italian skincare partner Comfort Zone. Treatments include facial and body therapies, anti-ageing protocols and rituals for individuals as well as couples.

Davide Manzoni, GM, Comfort Zone, told Spa Business: “Strong partnerships are built on shared values and grow over time. We began working with Una Hotels twenty years ago and we are proud to continue this journey together in the new Comfort Zone Spa in Catania.”

There is also a relaxation area with day beds and seven outdoor wellness suites located on a terrace that has panoramic views.

The property also has a fitness area with Technogym equipment.

Una Hotels intends for the launch of this spa to contribute to the repositioning of this property in the upscale segment. It expects this new facility to expand the target market to include guests looking for leisure holidays as well as those seeking short breaks.

Una Hotels One Catania operates under the Una Hotels brand, which is owned by Italian hotel chain Una Italian Hospitality. Una Italian Hospitality has 59 hotels, resorts and apart-hotels and is said to be the largest Italian hotel chain.

Una Hotels represents 38 hotels across the country, in the upscale segment and the other brand is Una Esperienze – aimed at the upper-upscale market.

The development of the Urban Spa is part of the Group’s ongoing focus to enhance experiential elements across its portfolio.
