Utility firm to fund North Tyneside play scheme
North Tyneside Council (NTC) has announced that utility company Northumbrian Water is to fund improvements to a play area in West Allotment.
The company has agreed to finance the scheme after carrying out maintenance work to deal with recent flooding issues, which restricted access to the play site. A Nexus climbing unit will be re-installed and will feature alongside new equipment, such as a zip wire, a spinning 'Momentum' and a basket swing.
It is hoped the new-look play area will open within the next few weeks.
