Venomous new ride at safari park
The West Midland Safari Park in Bewdley has installed a new £500,000 ride built by the Fabbri Group.
Known as 'Venom' it is said to be the only one of its kind in the UK and based on Fabbri's Jungle Drop ride, a vertical steel tower structure with a half-round vehicle carrying eight people.
Venom's tower is 32m high, weighs approximately 18 tonnes and the ride lasts around 1.5 minutes. Up to 480 visitors per hour can be carried.
The ride - which has a minimum height requirement of 1.4m - involves the vehicle with its riders being lifted to the top of the tower, resting for about 10-15 seconds and then dropping back to earth.
Travelling at 0-60kph in under a second, the vehicle is braked by a fail-safe linear system.
