Views sought on Solihull countryside plans
Solihull Council has launched a public consultation to gather views from local residents about a new strategy outlining how it aims to manage the countryside.
The local authority's Countryside Strategy aims to incorporate the needs of all user groups in order to ensure the area continues to offer benefits for wildlife, residents and the economy over the next 10 years. John Reeve, the council's cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, said: "We want to ensure Solihull stays true to its motto, Town in the Country, by protecting and managing the countryside.
"We expect many challenges over the coming years, both environmentally and economically and it is the purpose of Solihull's Countryside Strategy to foresee these issues and provide a common sense approach to dealing with them." The consultation runs until 30 July.
