Vinotherapy spa opens in Portugal
The Yeatman hotel in Porto, Portugal, has opened a vinotherapy spa in partnership with French wine-based skincare supplier Caudalie.
Caudalie, founded and owned by the Cathiard family (see Spa Business Q2 2007, pp. 48-56), currently operates six spas worldwide, but the spa at The Yeatman will be the first of its kind in Portugal.
Facilities at the Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa include ten treatment rooms, an indoor heated infinity pool, hammam, sauna, Roman bath and tepidarium.
There will also be a 'shower experience zone' and sauna as well as a relaxation area offering panoramic views of the Douro Valley.
All treatments will be supplied by Caudalie and include barrel bath immersions, relaxing Vichy shower massages and other signature body and facial treatments.
Set across seven acres of private gardens, the 82-bedroom The Yeatman opened in August 2010 and boasts a collection of 25,000 bottles of wine and port in its cellars.
The Yeatman hotel is owned by drinks group The Fladgate Partnership, which owns the Taylors, Croft and Fonseca port wine houses.
