Visit London awards
Dame Helen Mirren, Gorilla Kingdom and the Gourmet Garden were all big winners at last week’s Visit London Awards.
The awards, sponsored by Eurostar, were held at the indigO2 in the former Millennium Dome and are made up of 14 judged categories and five People’s Choice categories.
James Bidwell, chief executive of Visit London, said: “The Visit London Awards recognise and reward the people and business that make London the number one city destination in the world. The ceremony celebrates the industry and the outstanding contribution all those who work in it make to giving both Londoners and visitors and unforgettable time.”
The Queen star Helen Mirren won the award for outstanding achievement in recognition of her work to promote film tourism, while the Gorilla Kingdom at London Zoo was named best new experience for Londoners.
Gourmet Garden in Hendon was named best restaurant and Tiger Tiger and Ronnie Scott’s won the best bar and best nightclub awards respectively.
