VisitBritain to boost domestic business tourism
VisitBritain has launched a new website for its domestic business tourism team, MeetEngland, to boost potential earnings from the 22.5 million business trips which take place in England each year.
The website, www.meetengland.com, aims to help organisations research, plan and hold business meetings, conferences, events and exhibitions in England by marketing corporate hospitality options, team-building experiences and incentive trips.
Information on quality-assessed accommodation as well as transport and attraction tickets, touring passes, books and maps available from the online shop are aimed at business travellers wishing to extend their trip following a business transaction.
Sarah Woodford, MeetEngland manager, sad: “Business tourism represents a quarter of all overnight domestic tourism spending, so it’s vital that we invest in this area. Our new site helps drive awareness of the wide range of venues and experiences available throughout England.”
