'Visitor inspired' call for NI tourism sector
Northern Ireland tourism leaders has been urged by the country's tourism minister, Arlene Foster, to be more "visitor inspired" in a bid to help boost the industry.
Speaking at the fifth annual Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) Visitor Servicing Conference at Belfast's La Mon House Hotel, Foster highlighted the importance of listening to what visitors want. More than 130 delegates from Northern Ireland's tourism sector attended the conference, which also included speeches from Lonely Planet travel editor Tom Hall and Visit Brighton marketing director Adam Bates.
Foster said: "It's an exciting time for tourism here but fulfilling our potential as a leading edge destination is our collective responsibility - everyone has a role to play. "I urge the industry to focus on further enhancing the visitor experience by listening to the needs of our visitors and becoming visitor inspired."
