Volleyball England launches new campaign
Volleyball England has announced the launch of its new Go Spike! grassroots campaign in a bid to encourage more people to take up the sport "in all its forms".
The initiative will be rolled out across the UK through a series of informal sessions and will form part of the national governing body's bid to grow participation to more than 500,000. Go Spike! sessions will operate at music, entertainment and charity events between June and September, while the volleyball club network will run sessions in parks and open spaces.
Volleyball England chief executive officer Lisa Wainwright said: "Go Spike! is designed to demonstrate some of volleyball's most important values; the sport is adaptable, social, fresh and invigorating. "More than half a billion people play volleyball worldwide, so this is England's chance to catch up with the rest of the world and Go Spike!"
