WBC Sea Change bidders announced
Wyre Borough Council (WBC) has announced the shortlisted firms for a £1.6m Sea Change project to develop a coastal trail between Fleetwood and Cleveleys, Lancashire.
More than 50 applicants for the scheme have been whittled down to five - Sweden-based White Arkitekter; BCA Landscapes; LDA Design; McChesney Architects; and Grit and Pearl. The shortlisted firms will now go forward to an interview stage with the council on 28 April to help determine which will be appointed for the Wyre coastal trail scheme.
WBC's plans include an architectural structure at Rossall Point to act as a beacon and visitor destination along the trail, while the Marine Gardens in Fleetwood are also in line for improvements. The scheme will be funded through the government's Sea Change initiative, along with match funding from WBC and support from the Fleetwood-based Lofthouse family - the makers of Fishermen's Friend.
