WWA's Bruschi waves goodbye
Dave Bruschi, co-founder of the World Waterpark Association with Al Turner, has decided to retire.
After starting the association in 1980, Bruschi worked in member services until 1982. He re-joined the WWA in 1988 and has held various positions, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Thanking the WWA members, Bruschi said: 'It has been a pleasure to watch the small gathering of people who came together in 1981 at the Philip's House Hotel in Kansas City grow into a worldwide industry, bringing joy to tens of millions of people each year.
'My time with the WWA has been amazing, filled with great friends and many successes.'
WWA president, Rick Root praised Bruschi's contribution to the industry, saying: 'He leaves behind a legacy of accomplishment and goodwill'.
During his tenure, the association has grown to represent 1,000 members in more than 40 countries.
