Wales Millennium Centre remains top Welsh visitor attraction

Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) has remained the most-visited attraction in Wales after the venue welcomed more than 1 million visitors in 2011 - up 3.1 per cent on the previous year.
According to the Survey of Visits to Tourist Attractions in Wales, Swansea's LC is the second most popular destination after a 9.1 per cent growth in visitor numbers last year.
Elsewhere, St Fagans Natural History Museum near Cardiff welcomed more than 610,000 visitors to occupy third position, although the number was broadly flat against 2010 figures.
More than 200 attractions participate in the survey, reporting a total of 15.8 million visitors for 2011. Visits to free attractions represented 57 per cent of all visits.
Welsh tourism minister Edwina Hart said: "Tourism is one of our key economic sectors, worth £4.2bn to the Welsh economy each year and visitor attractions are an important component of the industry."
