Walsall Council discusses future of its leisure centres
A meeting was held by Walsall Council tonight (30 March) to discuss the future of leisure facilities in the area.
The Community Services and Performance Panel met with members of the public to chew over six possible outcomes for the council’s six leisure centres.
The options are: to withdraw from leisure centre provision and transfer to private providers; to carry out improvements to the existing sites; to provide a strategic spread of swimming pools across the borough; to build a brand new leisure centre to include space for partner services such as health and education; to build a new leisure centre and ensure a strategic spread of pools; or to make no change to the current provision at all.
Leisure Opportunities will reveal the results of the discussion when they are announced.
