The Sheraton on the Falls hotel at Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada is to open one of North America’s largest – at 500,000sq ft (46,500sq m) – family attractions, including a 90,000sq ft (8,400sq m) indoor waterpark.

Opening in March 2006, the waterpark will feature 15 slides, a surfing-themed AquaPlay area called Calypso Beach, severak swimming pools and a wave pool.

It will also boast floor to celing windows giving views over Niagara Falls.

Being built on top of a six-storey parking garage for the hotel and adjacent casino, the attraction will also include the Marvel Superhero amusement park; a 7,000sq ft (650sq m) Hershey chocolate store; an iWerks 4D Adventure Theatre; an MGM Studios Plaza with the Pink Panther Balloon Ride and MGM Great Movie Journey; a 200ft PileDriver drop ride and a selection of food outlets including Rainforest Café, Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Café.
