Wave Leisure has announced the introduction of their Active Lifestyle scheme to get more people, more active, more often.

Available throughout Lewes district, the scheme allows individuals to register their intent to lead a more active life by making a commitment and setting themselves a target to achieve.

With obesity, health and quality of life a concern identified by people on a regular basis; the scheme offers an easy and accessible way to learn how to improve and change their life.

Helping them through the stages to reach the target will be a website with resources that offer information on physical activity, wellbeing and mental health, and food and nutrition; real life stories of people that have achieved their own targets and links to useful resources available both online and throughout the district.

The website is where people register for an Active Access card that is free to everyone and gives card holders the following benefits:

* A quarterly Active Lifestyle e-newsletter

* Benefits with local business partners * Access to the Active Lifestyle website

In addition, people can register for an Activate card, costing either £10 per year for an adult or £7.50 a year for seniors, juniors and concessions that also offer them a 10 per cent discount on selected activities at Wave Leisure.

Peter Crowley, Managing Director of Wave Leisure said: "We are delighted to be able to launch the Active Lifestyle scheme, which we hope will allow many more people to make their commitment to a more active lifestyle or increase their frequency of activity."

He continued: "We are grateful to the local business partners who have come on board to support the scheme throughout the district and we look forward to being able to expand the scheme to new partners in the coming months."
