This summer will see a full programme of activities offered out to the children of Newhaven, East Sussex at low or no cost, thanks to a partnership between Wave Leisure and local partners.

Running from Monday 25 July through to Sunday 4 September, there is a veritable feast of fun available this summer right the way across Newhaven which has been pulled together by East Sussex Targeted Youth Services (TYS), Newhaven Community Development Association (NCDA), Newhaven Integrated Play Project Educational and Recreational Services (N.I.P.P.E.R.S) and funded by Newhaven Town Council.

Among the highlights are a youth disco to mark the start and end of the holidays for just 50p at Shakespeare Hall and a Family Fun Day and BBQ on Friday 26th August, incorporating .

There will be an Ofsted registered summer holiday scheme from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, offering free Play Out sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and Play In sessions on a Tuesday.

Older kids and teens will be able to access Skate Out at the Fort Road Skate Park, hosted by East Sussex Targeted Youth Services, as well as youth clubs and youth drop-ins at Fort Road, Lewes Road and Denton Road, hosted by NCDA.

Fort Road recreational ground will offer sessions at the green gym, cricket, tennis and football, with Shakespeare Hall offering dodge ball, roller skating, dance and karate.

Seahaven Swim & Fitness Centre will be offering 50p swims on a Monday and Friday morning as well as their regular afternoon fun sessions throughout the holidays.

Peter Crowley, Managing Director of Wave Leisure Trust said: "We are delighted to be able to offer this programme out with key partners within the town of Newhaven. This is the first time we have all worked together to bring together such a comprehensive programme that really does cater for all ages of children."
