Welford Road's first phase to be completed next year
The first phase of a £60m redevelopment of the Leicester Tigers' Welford Road ground will be completed in time for the 2009-10 season.
The first phase of the project, which involves the creation of a new Caterpillar Stand on the Granby Halls side of the stadium, will see capacity boosted from 17,500 to 24,500.
The revamp, which was designed by architects Frank Whittle Partnership, is being carried out by construction company Galliford Try.
