Westin to open six hotels in six weeks
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is to open six new Westin hotels by the end of the year.
Locations include the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, the Westin Mumbai Garden City and the Westin Pune Koregaon Park, all in India; The Westin Tianjin in China; and the The Westin Washington Dulles Airport and Westin Lake Mary, Orlando North, both in the US. The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace will offer 428 guest rooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar and deli shop, while the 269 room Westin Mumbai Garden City will feature all day dining at Taste, a lounge bar, poolside bar, and rooftop restaurant called Goregaon Reserve. Also available will be nine meetings rooms and more than 2,900sq ft (269.4sq m) of meeting and function space. The Westin Pune Koregaon Park will have 277 guest rooms and suites, plus three restaurants which will include Prego, a classic Italian restaurant and Kangan, an Indian specialty restaurant.
All three hotels will also feature a WestinWORKOUT fitness center and Westin's signature Heavenly Spa facility. The Westin Tianjin hotel is part of a mixed use complex featuring hotel, condominiums, office space, and retail shopping in the city's central business district. It will have 275 guest rooms and suites, Westin Kids Club Amenities, a fully-equipped health club, indoor pool, and spa facilities. There will also be a total of 1,575sq m (16,953sq ft) of meeting and function space and a fully equipped business centre.
The 314-room Westin Washington Dulles Airport hotel offers a 24-hour WestinWORKOUT gym and indoor pool and has partnered with Reston National Golf course to provide preferred tee times and greens. The Westin Lake Mary, Orlando North hotel will have 253 guest rooms and 10 meeting spaces, while an offer unique to the site will be Shula's 347 Grill, named after Hall of Fame Coach Don Shula and exclusively serving Angus Beef burgers and SHULA CUT steaks. A further 12 openings scheduled for 2010 see the brand continuing its international expansion with new hotels planned for Canada, China, Greece, Japan, India and Mexico, in addition to other US openings.
