Wheel attraction to open in Blackpool
Blackpool Council has announced that a 35m (115ft) ferris wheel attraction is to be installed in the Lancashire resort's St John's Square ahead of the Easter holidays.
Located opposite the Winter Gardens' Floral Hall entrance, the wheel was originally built for the 1989 World's Fair in Paris, France, and features 24 gondolas. Blackpool Council cabinet member for tourism and regeneration Maxine Callow said: "We wanted to bring something to the town centre that would be a boost for the many visitors we get during the Easter Holidays."
