White Horse runs away with FIA Excellence Award
The Community Leisure Services-operated White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre in Abingdon won the 2006 Fitness Industry Association (FIA) Excellence Award at the association’s Commit to Get Fit Awards on 26 October.
The award is given to an individual, group of individuals or club/centre that has excelled during the Commit to Get Fit campaign, in sales, marketing or fundraising.
It was presented to the White Horse team due to the outstanding planning, preparation and execution of the campaign said award sponsor BUPA: "One of the key elements that made your campaign stand out from the other entries was the full staff involvement and commitment.”
The centre signed up 502 new members during the campaign.
The award was presented by England and Chelsea footballer Joe Cole.
