William Penn Leisure Centre makes a big splash!
William Penn Leisure Centre opened the doors to its new 25 metre, 5 lane Main Pool as well as a fantastic 12 metre Teaching Pool on Tuesday 4 May.
Complemented by fully accessible changing facilities including disabled, family and group changing rooms, the new pool re launched their Swim Academy Lesson Programme on 17 May 2010.
Hertsmere Leisure, who manages the facility in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, will be working in partnership with the Amateur Swimming Association and running the National Plan for Teaching Swimming to customers as young as fout months through to adults.
The new Pool Programme is designed to cater for everyone and includes early morning, lunchtime and evening lane swimming, casual sessions and Aqua Aerobic classes. Free Swimming is also available to all customers under the age of 19 and over 60.
The new pools bring to a close a major refurbishment of the Centre which now houses an 80 station fitness studio including Power Plate® and two dance studios within it's Beaumonts Health Club as well ar a multi purpose sports hall, squash courts, crèche, café and MUGA.
The Centre celebrated the great new facilities on Sunday 30 May with a big Open Day offering free activities throughout the centre to visitors.
