Willmott Dixon to build a further David Lloyd Leisure club
Construction company Willmott Dixon has negotiated a £7m contract to build its thirteenth David Lloyd Leisure club in eight years.
Work on the latest club - in Kings Hill, Kent - is scheduled to start shortly and will be built within the company's usual fast-track programme of 38 weeks.
When completed in July 2005, the club's facilities will include a large fitness hall and exercise studios, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, indoor and outside swimming pools, hydro-spa, leisure pool and crèche facilities.
The new scheme brings the value of work by Willmott Dixon for David Lloyd Leisure to almost £70 million, the relationship having already resulted in the shortening of on-site construction times by up to 25 per cent.
The other Willmott Dixon schemes for David Lloyd Leisure include Leeds, Teesside, Southampton, Port Solent, Maidenhead, Cheam, Finchley, Bromsgrove, Heston, Newcastle, Oxford and Worthing (due to open this month).
