Willow Stream spa expands into China
Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has opened its inaugural Willow Stream Spa in China and has two more planned for 2010.
The 11,840sq ft (1,100sq m) spa, at the 200-bedroom Fairmont Yangcheng Lake in Kunshan opened in early 2010.
Elsewhere within the group's portfolio, a 21,523sq ft (2,000sq m), 12-suite Willow Stream Spa is scheduled to launch by mid-2010 at the 222-bedroom Fairmont Beijing. The spa will be situated in the skybridge between the hotel and an office tower, spanning three floors (20 to 22).
Another highlight is the Willow Stream Spa at the 270-bedroom Fairmont Peace Hotel - a landmark 1930's hotel in Shanghai, which is currently in a soft opening phase after a muli-million dollar restoration. The 10,850sq ft (1,008sq m) spa has 11 treatment rooms, a reflexology lounge and a sky-lit pool. It is due to fully open in late 2010. Details: fairmont.com
