Wiltshire Council to reopen Lime Kiln Leisure Centre swimming pool
By Pete Hayman
Wiltshire Council has unveiled plans to reopen Lime Kiln Leisure Centre's swimming pool on a temporary basis this summer while a new multi-purpose sports campus is developed.
The swimming pool was among the centre's facilities to suffer damage in a fire in December 2010, which centred on the health suite and swimming changing areas.
Members of the council's Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade area board have decided to reopen the pool in order to ensure as many local residents can access swimming facilities.
Some facilities at Lime Kiln Leisure Centre have already reopened, including the sports hall, squash courts and fitness room. The swimming pool is due to reopen on 23 July.
