Wirral Council seeks Mersey Coast comments
Six schemes, which have been drawn up as part of efforts to regenerate a 6.5km (4-mile) stretch of the Wirral's coastline, are to be put on show by the local authority at a public meeting on 22 January.
Wirral Council is inviting local residents to comment on the proposals for the £10m Mersey Coastal Park Strategy, which covers an area of coastline between Eastham Country Park and Rock Ferry, Working in partnership with the Royal Mersey Yacht Club (RMYC), a new 100-berth marina with 24-hour access to the River Mersey and able to host national and international events forms part of the proposals to improve the area.
The council's six 'signature' projects include the Rock Park Conservation Area and Esplanade; the Rock Ferry Waterfront Regeneration Scheme led by RMYC; Wirral International Business Park; Newlands 2 Bromborough Landfill Site and Eastham Country Park. Shorefields Community Park is the other scheme to be put on show at the meeting.
