Wish list for Kentucky's Commonwealth Stadium goes online
The University of Kentucky athletic department has published its proposals for the redevelopment of the Commonwealth Stadium.
A new website, kfundonline.com, has been launched to allow the public to explore Kentucky's wish list of ideas for relaunching the stadium, which is expected to cost US$125m (£78m, 95.7m euro).
University of Kentucky is also using the web portal as a crowdsourcing initiative ad it plans to raise the funds through private donations.
The long-term goal of the reinvention is to give the athletics, and the university, day-to-day entertainment space.
Proposals on the K-Fund site include adding 10-15 suites, one for presidential use to seat 100-150 patrons.
The addition of 2,000-2,500 clubs seats, a new multi-purpose recruiting room, new team store and improved video boards and security are also among suggestions.
Meanwhile, other proposals suggest that instead of adding additional seats the focus should be on maintaining or slightly reducing seating capacity while increasing the value of the remaining seats.
One of the goals outlined is that funding should be used to improve the University of Kentucky brand at the stadium.
Over the past few years the Commonwealth Stadium has seen improvements that include renovation of the playing surface with the most recent being the $6m (£3.7m, 4.6m euro) addition of HD video and ribbon boards.
