Wolves to hit target
Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries has issued a trading update saying it expects to announce trading results in line with expectations in December, despite poor weather in the early summer.
In the year to 28 September, like for like sales were up 1 per cent in the Pathfinder Pubs division and the performance of Pitcher and Piano is said to have improved since Mike Dowell was appointed as managing director in July.
The Union Pub Company division has also seen average turnover per pub increase by 6.5 per cent and the group has just opened its 50th Bostin' Local managed pub, Farmer John's in Sutton Coldfield.
Chief executive Ralph Findlay said the group transferred 104 smaller managed pubs to its tenanted pub division at the end of September and that he is confident of prospects for the year ahead.
