Work starts on £740,000 Barnet walk overhaul
Barnet Council has announced the start of work on a £740,000 revamp of the Dollis Valley Greenwalk, North London - a recipient of grant funding from the mayor of London.
The refurbishment is being funded with the help of a £400,000 contribution from the Help a London Park, in addition to £250,000 from Transport for London for a cycleway upgrade. Walk London has provided £30,000 and Barnet Council has invested £50,000 in the project, which will help enhance the 7-mile (11.3km) route.
River and pond improvements; new way-marking; and the installation of play equipment are planned, along with the creation of new wild flower meadows.
