Work starts on NI 'active ageing' centre
Work has started on a new Active Ageing Centre on land next to the University of the Third Age (U3A) Foyle's premises at Pascal McDonald House in Grasha Park, Derry.
The £656,000 project is being joint funded by the institution, Sport Northern Ireland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, which will feature a sports hall with four bowling lanes. Facilities will also include an art suite section, comprising a large purpose-built art room with picture windows and an art studio to house a range of activities such as craft-making.
