World Travel India set to take place in February 2004
World Travel India 2004 is set to take place at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai on 5-8 February next year.
The event is the region’s first major travel and tourism trade show and has been developed to support the huge growth currently being experienced by the Indian travel sector.
The country currently receives in the region of 2.5 million inbound tourists annually and around 6.5 million Indians travel abroad each year. It has also been tipped as the world’s fastest growing market for tourism by the World Travel and Tourism Council.
The Indian ministry for tourism has now declared that tourism is a priority sector for development and has pledged to increase annual funding of US$600m to US$2bn over the next 10 years. Details: www.worldtravelindia.com
