World’s oldest club takes over pub

Sheffield FC, officially recognized as the world’s oldest football club, has purchased the Bright Finance Stadium, which includes the Coach and Horses pub.

The club will take over the day-to-day running of the pub and according to chair Richard Tims, the stadium deal will secure the club’s future.

he said: “For a club our size to establish our own venue – and one which includes a pub – is equivalent to Arsenal purchasing their new Emirates Stadium.”
