Wright stuff at LIW
Ex-England footballer Ian Wright will be just one of the headline names scheduled to promote youth fitness at this year’s Sports Development Week (SDW), held alongside the Leisure Industry Week (LIW), held at the Birmingham NEC between 25-27 September.
Ian Wright and London-based Fit for Sport recently launched the Fitter Schools UK 2007 campaign, which aims to increase fitness and exercise in UK schools, and SDW will include a keynote speech on how to engage children in physical activity.
The Fitter Schools challenge, sponsored by Next Generation health Clubs, has so far been taken up by 3,000 schools and over one million children.
